Chewy Oatmeal Cookies
If you are looking for a great recipe for oatmeal cookies, look no further. This oatmeal cookie recipe is one of the best! The original recipe came from a recipe card I found written in my mother’s handwriting. I don’t know where she got it from but it has become one of my favorite recipes for oatmeal cookies.
Chewy Oatmeal Cookies
- 3/4 cup softened butter
- 1 1/4 cups light brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup evaporated milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 3 cups old fashioned oatmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup dried canberries
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheet. Cream together butter and brown sugar. Add evaporated milk, egg and vanilla. Mix well. Combine oats with dry ingredients and mix into creamed mixture until well blended. Stir in dried cranberries and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Move onto cooling rack. Cool and enjoy. Chewy delicious oatmeal cookies.
